I know, I know, it’s been ages since I’ve poked my head up and written.\u00a0 My dear friend, Terry, just wrote to remind me of that yesterday (Thanks, Terry for getting me back to the computer).\u00a0 Frankly, I haven’t been doing or seeing much art since my move out to sunny California.\u00a0 Since I had a fairly good rhythm of making and seeing art in Chicago, post ideas were obvious.\u00a0 Now, not so much.\u00a0 So, the focus of the blog will change along with my life.\u00a0 Your guess is as good as mine whether the transition will be sucessful.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Though we have been settled in our house for about 8 months now, life still feels very transitional.\u00a0 Much of that has been intentional.\u00a0 Very good in some ways, in others, much more challenging.\u00a0 I have never had a period in my life where I felt so stretched, at least for so sustained a period of time.\u00a0 Ken and I are actively talking and planning for a very big life change; his transition out of corporate life and our eventual, permanent\u00a0move further north\u00a0and out of Silicon Valley.\u00a0 It’s hardly around the corner, but requires lots of decisions to be made now to make it happen.\u00a0Life has involved a ton of planning.\u00a0 \u00a0Exciting and scary at the same time.\u00a0 I guess this is my\/our version of a midlife crisis:-)<\/p>\n

My creative energies have been spent looking\u00a0for land up north and designing a house and site plan.\u00a0 I have also been trying to get a basic infrastructure\u00a0planned, bid out and\u00a0built.\u00a0 The learning curve has been steep, but really exciting.\u00a0 \u00a0 All of which I feel a bit protective of sharing on the internet.\u00a0 In general, I feel a bit odd sharing about my personal life here.\u00a0 This blog was always about art and now it feels like it needs to take a more personal, vulnerable\u00a0focus.\u00a0 I’m not sure I know how to do that dance or even if I care to.\u00a0 I guess I’ll have to stew on that one.<\/p>\n
