The weather in Chicago is so dismal today that my dogs have even given up trying to get me to take them on a walk and decided to sleep the day away

My husband has a looming work deadline, so I am left to my own devices.  I am listening to an interesting  audiobook: “The Thirteenth Tale”  by Diane Setterfield.  It has a very spooky British feel to it; very Daphne Du Maurier’s “Rebecca” and it seems a perfect match for the gloomy day.  I have been playing in the basement with discharge paste and thermofax screens.  These started out as some really boring hand dyed organzas.  The color was fairly uniform and saturated; not really useful for the lind of work I do.  Here are the results:

The screen is degrading from all of the discharge paste I’ve run through it.  See the splotch in the middle of the branches?  I think it turned out okay for a first layer, but the screen is done for.
With this one I used a really small screen of japanese textile patterns:
